What our clients say...

What is equity release?

Equity release allows homeowners over 55 to unlock tax-free cash from their property without having to move. This can be done by either borrowing against your home’s value with a lifetime mortgage or selling a share of it in exchange for a lump sum or regular income. Some plans also offer the flexibility to release more funds in the future if needed. If you still have a mortgage, the outstanding balance must be cleared using the released funds, but the rest is yours to spend as you wish.

Is equity release safe?

Strict regulations are in place to protect homeowners who choose equity release. All providers and advisers must follow industry rules to ensure you receive clear and fair advice before making any decisions.

With a lifetime mortgage, you will never owe more than the value of your home when it is sold, as long as it is sold at a fair market price. This means you or your loved ones will never be left with unexpected debt.

What can you use equity release for?

There are no restrictions on how you use the money—it’s entirely up to you. Many homeowners choose to fund home improvements, help family members financially, clear existing debts, or simply enjoy a more comfortable retirement.
